End Caps

Pre-insulated End Caps (CE Series) are high-performance utility protective fittings engineered to permanently seal and isolate the raw, exposed cut ends of low-voltage overhead Aerial Bundled Conductors (A.B.C.). Designed to accommodate conductor cross-sections from 6mm2 up to 150mm2, this series relies entirely on a precision-calibrated internal elastomeric rubber sealing matrix. By establishing an immediate, tight mechanical enclosure over raw wire tips through standard tool compression, they completely block moisture ingress, core oxidation, and current leakage tracking at network termination points.

Features

100% Hermetic Elastic Barrier

Formulated with premium multi-layer internal elastomeric rubber sealing rings. When compressed onto the cable tail, these gaskets exert continuous radial pressure to create a rigid, gas-tight barrier that blocks rainfall and atmospheric humidity from reaching the internal wire strands.

Premium Dielectric Thermoplastic Housing

Molded from high-density, weather-proof engineering polymers. The 100% non-conductive plastic shell establishes superior dielectric isolation, safely ensuring complete touch-safety for linemen working around live network terminals.

Direct Application Dry-Seal Design

Engineered for clean, immediate out-of-the-box field deployment. The internal dry chamber requires no external chemical sealants or fillers, ensuring stable warehousing, zero fluid migration, and an uncompromised mechanical seal during severe thermal cycling.

High UV & Weathering Endurance

Chemically structural-stabilized against heavy ultraviolet tracking and prolonged ozone exposure. The robust polymer shell resists environmental embrittlement and thermal cracking, outlasting the active service lifespan of the distribution network.

Implementation Instructions

Step 1: Conductor End Preparation

Cleanly cut the end of the ABC phase or neutral conductor using standard cable shears, ensuring a straight, burr-free edge. Measure the insertion depth against the external indicator marks stamped on the end cap body.

Step 2: Direct Cap Insertion

Push the pre-insulated end cap straight onto the raw conductor end. Ensure the wire core slides fully through the internal rubber sealing rings until it bottoms out completely against the inner mechanical end stop.

Step 3: Mechanical Hex-Crimping Execution

Deploy a compatible manual or hydraulic crimping tool outfitted with the standard matching hexagonal die matrix. Compress the cap firmly at the designated stamped marking zones to mechanically lock the elastic seals around the cable jacket for a permanent waterproof lock.

Step 4: Terminal Security & Live-Line Safe Handling

Because the entire outer shell is molded from premium high-dielectric polymer matrix, these pre-insulated end caps are highly qualified for safe handling in close proximity to active networks (hot-line handling). However, when executing capping operations on energized conductors, linesmen must utilize fully insulated compression tool pumps and wear approved high-voltage safety gloves to eliminate any flashover risks.

Industrial Engineering & Standards
