Insulation Piercing Connector (Service Type) is engineered to establish secure, low-resistance tap connections from low-voltage Aerial Bundled Conductors (A.B.C.) main lines to domestic user service lines. Built for high reliability and utility safety, it allows seamless power distribution to end-users without stripping the cable insulation or shutting down the grid network.

Features
Main-to-Service Optimised Splicing
Specifically designed with varied slot geometries to perfectly clamp large-cross-section main ABC distribution cables on one side, and smaller consumer service wires on the other.
Total Insulation & Safety
Features an entirely potential-free, fully insulated tightening head. This guarantees complete electrical safety for utility technicians during energized, live-line installations.
Precision Torque Control
Equipped with a calibrated metallic shear head screw that breaks off automatically when the perfect mechanical penetration and contact pressure are achieved, preventing conductor deformation.
Advanced Corrosion Protection
The internal contact teeth are pre-filled with professional-grade synthetic grease, ensuring a gas-tight, oxidation-free interface that eliminates water ingress and galvanic corrosion.
Implementation Instructions
Step 1: Conductor Alignment
Align the main ABC cable in the main slot. Insert the insulated consumer service tap conductor into the tap side of the connector barrel, ensuring it passes the internal blades fully.
Step 2: Shear Bolt Tightening
Hand-tighten the connector screw to stabilize its position. Use an appropriate insulated spanner to turn the bolt until the upper shear head snaps off completely.
Step 3: End Cap Deployment
Slide and fit the attached flexible terminal end cap over the exposed tip of the consumer tap conductor to secure total environmental sealing against moisture.
Step 4: Live-Line Safe Operation
This service connector is engineered for safe hot-line implementation on live main networks. However, to ensure arc-free installation, make sure there is no connected consumer electrical load on the service wire while tightening the shear head.
Industrial Engineering & Standards
Engineered to fulfill the demanding criteria of modern electrical power distribution utilities globally:
- Standard Compliance: Tested and fully certified according to the strict international testing standards of NF C 33-020 and EN 50483.
- Rugged Enclosure: Molded from high-strength, glass-fiber reinforced polymer that delivers exceptional resistance to UV radiation, thermal aging, and harsh weather conditions.
- 6kV Dielectric Security: Guarantees robust flashover protection, maintaining a dielectric breakdown strength of over 6 kV even when completely submerged in water.
